Organizational Evolution

Not-For-Profit Incorporation

In 2022, we incorporated into a non-profit organization, SCW, allowing us to better align our activities with our core mission. This transition undrscores our steadfast commitment to strengthening the impact of online scientific discourse. Our non-profit status allows us to champion the cause of open access, creating a vibrant community where knowledge sharing is not hindered by institutional / geographical barrier. It also enables us to manage our finances in a sustainable manner, primarily through grants and sponsorships.

DOI Registration

In a strategic move to elevate the stature of multimedia sci-comm we joined the DataCite Consortium. This enables us to register DOIs for both short and long-form audiovisual scientific content, thereby extending their longevity and solidifying their status as legitimate / citable academic resources.

Broadening Horizons with Partnerships

Our collaborations with esteemed conferences like Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), Computational and Systems Neuroscience (COSYNE), British Neuroscience Association (BNA), and Neuromatch, have allowed us to extend our reach and influence. These partnerships enable us to provide a range of semantic & multimedia services, reinforcing our position as innovators in the realm of online scientific discourse.
