About
Investigate how soil microbiomes influence potato resistance to Phytophthora infestans and Ralstonia solanacearum. The ResistoBiome project combines automated plant phenotyping, microbial sequencing, predictive modelling and experimental validation of protective microbes. The initial 18-month appointment can extend to four years following a positive assessment. Apply with a CV, a one-page motivation letter and contact details for two referees.
Requirements
MSc in plant biology, microbiology, molecular biology, plant pathology, biotechnology, bioinformatics or a related discipline; laboratory or plant-experiment experience and good English. Interest in quantitative biology and microbiome analysis is required; sequencing, R/Python and machine-learning experience are advantages.
