Join the ATLAS Detector Safety System team to commission and upgrade safety systems and infrastructure for Run 4. Tasks include subsystem tests, safety matrices, cabling, environmental monitoring and coordination with detector specialists, with team supervision. This on-site appointment lasts 24 months, with a possible extension to 36 months; the target start is 1 November 2026. Apply by 29 September 2026 at 23:59 Geneva time. Applicants need a relevant master’s with two to six years of subsequent experience, or a PhD with at most three years, and no previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
CERN member/associate-state nationality rules apply; the advert currently excludes Pakistani, Lithuanian, Latvian, Cypriot, Croatian and Turkish nationals under membership ceilings.
Requirements
Applied-physics background, detector/safety electronics, PLC testing and industrial communication experience; English and willingness to learn French. Medical clearance and occasional underground or out-of-hours work are required.
