About
Investigate how molecular components organise into living cells, combining structural and synthetic biology with computational models of biochemical networks. The joint programme connects the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology with TU Dortmund, Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Duisburg-Essen. Positions carry fully funded employment contracts and social benefits, with research mentoring and English-language scientific and professional training.
Applications close on 1 October 2026 at 24:00 German local time; references are due on 8 October. Online interviews run 18–20 November, followed by an on-site selection on 14–15 January 2027.
Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, life sciences, biophysics, physics, chemistry, computer science or a related field. Submit through the current Winter 2027 application portal; arrange references by the separate reference deadline.
