A joint fellowship in radio astronomy and computational cosmology, with one year at each institution; second-year renewal depends on performance. Research areas include reionization, the cosmic microwave background, pulsar timing and polarization, large-scale structure, computational astrophysics and radio searches for dark matter. Hosts are Nicholas Thantsha and Yin-Zhe Ma. The preferred start is November 2026 or early 2027, with a tax-free fellowship of ZAR 350,000 annually.
Requirements
PhD in physics with astrophysics/astronomy specialization or a related field, awarded within the past five years; peer-reviewed publications; strong computational and communication skills.
