The congress examines Quaternary environmental and human history and its practical relevance to society. Themes include climate archives, geological hazards, sediments and heritage, the Anthropocene, chronology, data synthesis and modelling. Studies of glaciers, rivers, deserts, wetlands and coasts connect past changes with questions about present food, water, environmental and settlement security. Scientific presentations are accompanied by workshops and optional excursions through Indian geological and archaeological settings. Presenters must pay by 30 October 2026; field-trip registration also closes that day. Delayed and onsite registration continues through the congress closing date.
