Job Description
ESA offers independent postdoctoral research connected to its science missions, including astrophysics, cosmology, gravitational waves and exoplanets. Fellows work at ESAC, ESTEC or the ESA office at STScI, initially for two years, with a possible third year subject to a further proposal. They may devote up to 20% of their time to support ESA science activities. This 2026 call for the next selection closes on 21 September 2026 at 23:59 CET/CEST. Proposals should identify the most suitable ESA research environment.
Requirements
- PhD completed before starting
- preference for applicants within five years of the doctorate. Citizenship must be from a country explicitly listed in the vacancy
- including eligible ESA member
- associate and cooperating states. Good English or French is required
