PhD in Probabilistic Machine Learning and Statistics

Three-year doctoral position at the Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology, developing probabilistic methods for complex biological data. Research will combine latent-variable modelling, scalable inference and uncertainty quantification for high-dimensional, structured and multimodal observations, including spatial transcriptomics and fluorescence imaging. The project is part of FunGenAD and offers collaboration with Columbia University. The position is based at Domus Medica in Oslo; an extension involving teaching may be possible.

Master’s degree or equivalent in statistics, machine learning, mathematics, computer science, physics or a related quantitative discipline. Strong probability, linear algebra and statistical modelling, practical Python and modern ML-framework skills, and English proficiency are expected.
