Abstract

Migraine is a highly prevalent and disabling neurological disorder with significant public health and economic burden. Lifestyle interventions may modulate disease severity and support recovery of normal brain function, improving overall patient health. Within the DARE (DigitAl lifelong pRevEntion) project, we investigated the effects of dietary habits, physical activity, sleep routines, and stress management on migraine attack frequency in adults with episodic migraine. Protective lifestyle factors identified included balanced dietary habits, weight management in overweight/obese patients, ketogenic diets, and supplementation with vitamins. Regular physical activity, including yoga, reduced attack frequency. Multidimensional sleep health and stress-focused psychological interventions, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, also contributed to decreased migraine occurrence. These findings highlight the translational potential of lifestyle modifications in migraine management, and suggest effective non-pharmacological strategies to reduce migraine burden and inform future predictive models for migraine attack forecasting.
