Abstract

Stroke includes ischemic and hemorrhagic types, with ischemic stroke being the primary one, characterized by high morbidity, mortality, disability, and recurrence rates, it significantly impacts patients’daily lives and imposes a heavy burden on families and society. However, there are few clinically available drugs for ischemic stroke, and they often have numerous side effects. Therefore, there is an urgent need to identify new and effective drugs. Natural products serve as an important source for discovering innovative drugs. Ginseng, a precious medicinal plant, possesses various pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Among its main active ingredients, ginsenosides of the panaxatriol type are of particular interest. However, research on their anti-ischemic stroke effects is limited. This study aims to explore the anti-ischemic stroke effects and mechanisms of panaxatriol ginsenoside (PG1).
