About
The meeting connects the development of light-responsive tools with their use in neuronal and non-neuronal biology, materials and unicellular organisms. Its preliminary programme covers fundamental biological questions, phase separation, discovery and engineering of light-responsive systems, neuroscience applications and translation into therapeutic and industrial settings. Research presentations, posters and discussion bring tool builders together with scientists applying optogenetics to biological problems.
The conference is fully in person, with no virtual access. The preliminary programme uses Central European Time and remains subject to change. Standard academic/government registration is USD 500 for members or USD 600 for non-members; student registration is USD 400 or USD 500 respectively. Registration includes sessions, scheduled meals, networking and available proceedings. The homepage announces extended poster and early-bird deadlines of 30 and 28 September 2026; these have passed.
