Commitment and standard
We want world-wide.org to be usable by every researcher, including people using assistive technology. Development is oriented toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA: semantic structure, keyboard operability, visible focus, sufficient contrast, and text alternatives are part of our component standards. Accessibility is ongoing work on an evolving platform, and we do not claim full conformance.
Known limitations
- Interactive data views — maps and dense listings — offer substantial keyboard support, but some spatial interactions have no full non-visual equivalent yet; where possible we provide the same content as lists.
- Embedded third-party players (video and podcast platforms) and uploaded documents such as poster PDFs are controlled by their providers and authors, and their accessibility varies.
Feedback and assistance
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email info@world-wide.org with the page URL and a description of the issue and of the assistive technology involved. We prioritise fixing reported barriers and will help you reach the content in the meantime.
