Editorial & Content Moderation Policy

1.Sources and attribution

Content may come from a submitter, organiser, institutional partner, public announcement, publisher, funder, or conference programme. We preserve a canonical source where one exists and avoid presenting an imported item as if the named person submitted it. Professional facts should be attributable and checked against the primary source when practical.

2.Selection and ranking

Inclusion depends on relevance, source quality, completeness, timeliness, duplication, and policy compliance. Search and recommendations may use text relevance, topic relationships, freshness, and consented interaction signals. Payment or partnership does not buy an undisclosed editorial conclusion or organic ranking. Sponsored context must be identifiable where it could affect a reasonable reader’s interpretation.

3.AI assistance

Machine systems assist with extraction, summaries, classification, semantic search, recommendations, and moderation screening. They can be wrong. Users should verify consequential facts against the source, and moderation outcomes involve human review. Current uses, provider handling, and known labelling limitations are documented in the AI Transparency Statement.

4.Corrections and removals

• minor metadata and formatting errors may be corrected directly;
• material changes should preserve source and revision context;
• expired opportunities may remain identifiable as expired rather than disappear;
• unlawful, infringing, deceptive, unsafe, or privacy-invasive material may be restricted or removed; and
• DOI metadata can require a persistent tombstone even when hosted files are removed.

5.Independence and conflicts

Editors and reviewers disclose relevant relationships and step back where an interest could compromise independent judgement. Partners, funders, and organisations can correct facts about their own material but do not receive an undisclosed veto over criticism, reports, or moderation.
