Wildfire Science, Impacts, and Mitigation Strategies

The 2027 Wildfire Science, Impacts, and Mitigation Strategies Gordon Research Conference, "Wildland and WUI Fire Trends and Impacts", brings together researchers in combustion, atmospheric, environmental, health, measurement, modelling and data sciences to advance understanding of fire behaviour and develop practices that lessen its adverse impacts. Sessions cover trends in wildfires and proactive approaches, the environment's impact on fire, the spectrum of wildland fire and emissions, health effects of fire emissions, WUI fire emissions, impacts of fires on the environment, risk reduction, modelling of wildland and WUI fire behaviour, and combustion regimes. The five-day meeting combines talks on unpublished work with extended discussion, poster sessions open to all career stages, and communal meals and free afternoons for informal exchange; attendance is by application.
