The nucleus actively contributes to cellular function through its organization, mechanics and interactions with molecular and mechanical networks inside and outside the cell. This second EMBO | EMBL symposium examines the cell biology underlying nuclear function, complementing genomic studies of three-dimensional genome organization and transcription. Topics include the nuclear envelope, condensates, cell division, nuclear biophysics and mechanics, architecture, dynamics and subcompartments. The meeting brings together cell and molecular biologists, genomicists and physicists at different career stages to investigate how biochemical and mechanical interactions integrate information and regulate the nucleus.
