To test this hypothesis, we used viral vectors to overexpress or silence Foxo1 in hippocampal astrocytes. This bidirectional manipulation allowed us to establish astrocytic Foxo1 as a novel regulator of hippocampal circuit function, with implications for mouse behavior.
