Research conducted in Canada with demonstrated Canadian societal benefits; team-majority requirements apply.

Self-nomination is excluded. Individual nominees must be eligible to hold NSERC grant funds. For teams, an eligible spokesperson is required and most members must work at Canadian universities or Canadian public/private organisations. Previous Herzberg recipients are ineligible.
