Eligibility
Career stage: Postdoc · Early independent researcher
Apply with a supervisor or host
Covers: Up to EUR 2 million over five years for PI, doctoral staff and project costs. Optional internationalisation module adds up to 10%; an administrative allowance is handled separately.
Host location: Germany
Eligible research host in Lower Saxony, Germany; current residence there is not required.

Researchers establish a group at an eligible publicly funded Lower Saxony university or research institute. The doctorate must predate September 1, 2025. Permanent and tenure-track professors are excluded. Host support is required; previous-round applicants need an explicit resubmission invitation.
