About
This mobility programme funds collaborative placements within companies, connecting academic research with industry needs. Awards last 1–12 months full-time or up to 24 months part-time; fellows remain employed by their Irish Research Body and work primarily at the company. Applications are accepted continuously, with assessment cut-offs at 13:00 Irish time on 19 November 2026, 31 March 2027 and 30 September 2027. Fellowships should begin within six months of funding notification.
Eligibility
Covers: Up to €130,000 in direct costs for salary or teaching buy-out, travel, training and open-access publication, including a fixed €10,000 travel/training budget; industry contributes in kind.
Employment and award administration through an eligible Irish Research Body; the company placement may be in Ireland or internationally.
Faculty, postdoctoral researchers and late-stage doctoral candidates who complete their PhD before the placement may apply with an eligible Irish Research Body and one for-profit Industry Partner. A company-employed mentor is required. Public bodies, hospitals, higher-education institutions and technology-transfer offices cannot act as the industry partner.
