About
Prepare a return to an academic research career after a career break. The bursary supports activities needed to develop an STFC fellowship proposal or another eligible funding application naming the researcher.
Eligibility
Covers: Up to £2,500 for proposal preparation, literature reviews, familiarisation with equipment and techniques, and relevant meetings or seminars.
An eligible UK host or lead organisation is required.
Researchers with a PhD in STFC core science who have normally taken a career break of at least two years for caring, illness or a non-research role. Some shorter breaks qualify when there is no right to return to the previous employer. A suitable UK host must be arranged.
