Trust and confidence in policing: Research & Innovation Consortium

Description

Develop and test methods for measuring public trust in policing, including approaches that reach communities underrepresented in existing research. The consortium will combine researchers, public partners and community expertise and evaluate practical interventions. The project must start by 1 February 2027 and last 36 months. UKRI covers 80% of project full economic costs up to £2 million. Applications close at 16:00 UK time on 27 October 2026.

Eligibility

The project lead must be based at an eligible UK research organisation. UK business, third-sector and government participants may be co-leads; international researchers may participate under the stated international co-lead rules.
