About

Child psychologist post (80–100%) at the Health Care Institution of North Iceland (HSN), which provides first- and second-line mental health services for children and young people up to 18 across North Iceland, from Blönduós to Þórshöfn: a psychology team treats mild to moderate difficulties and an interdisciplinary child mental health team treats more complex cases, with an emphasis on evidence-based individual and parent-focused treatment. The psychologist assesses and treats mild to moderate symptoms of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder in children and adolescents, provides parenting guidance, and helps build evidence-based child mental health services as they are transformed under Ministry of Health plans, including a new initiative to strengthen assessment and treatment of children with ADHD symptoms after initial screening.

Regular clinical supervision is provided, and the post can be based at any of HSN's main sites and/or worked remotely.
