Job Description

Coordinate and deliver bioinformatics for Australia’s National Biodiversity DNA Library. Work combines DNA-sequence analysis, research coordination and collaboration with taxonomists, molecular biologists, collections and museums. The role supports reproducible biodiversity data products and environmental-DNA technologies. The full-time appointment runs through 30 June 2029, with Canberra and Melbourne listed as locations and other CSIRO sites considered. Applications close on 14 September 2026 at 23:00 AEST.

Requirements

  • Relevant PhD or equivalent research experience
  • bioinformatics
  • molecular identification or phylogenetics
  • programming and HPC
  • project coordination and research-collection experience. Australian/New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency required.
