Job Description
The Varela lab is hiring a full-time research assistant to provide administrative and technical support in a highly collaborative lab environment. Start date late Summer or Fall of 2023; 1 year with possibility of renewal.
The Varela laboratory investigates the cellular and network mechanisms of learning and memory in rodents. We use a broad range of state-of-the-art methods, including multi-site extracellular recordings in freely behaving rats, closed-loop manipulations of brain activity, optogenetics, and computational approaches http://www.varelalab.org/
We are a highly interactive and multi-disciplinary lab. A major strength of our team is the diversity of backgrounds, cultures and viewpoints, which all enhance the learning experience for trainees. As a small young lab, our environment resembles a startup company; we love what we do and work closely to support and help each other succeed.
