Job Description

We are recruiting a Junior Researcher working in the field of Supramolecular Hydrogels. The Molecular Biomaterials Group is interested in the fabrication of supramolecular hydrogels combining peptides and natural polymers for applications in exploratory and mechanistic cell culture studies and regenerative medicine. Candidates should meet the criteria of “Recognised Researchers (R2)” established in the European Framework for Research Careers.

Requirements

Highly motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree in Biomaterials or Materials Engineering
and a solid track record of achievements (high quality publications and conference presentations)
Experience and interest in the field of supramolecular hydrogels
Skills in physical and chemical characterisation of hydrogels (micro/rheology
SEM
confocal microscopy
diffusion studies)
Experience in culturing cells in hydrogels
Good communication and presentation skills
with proven ability to write and prepare research papers
A team player with the ability to supervise the work of students and technicians
Fluent in written and spoken English.
