Job Description
The Molecular Biomaterials Group has a strong track record of research on peptide-based biomaterials, with publications in Science, Nat Chem, Adv Funct Mater, Nano Lett, and is interested in developing stimuli-responsive self-assembling peptides for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. .We are recruiting a Junior Researcher working in the field of Peptide-based Biomaterials. Candidates should meet the criteria of “Recognised Researchers (R2)” established in the European Framework for Research Careers.

Requirements
- Highly motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree in Chemistry
- Experience and interest in the field of peptide therapeutics
- A solid track record in peptide chemistry and peptide-based materials as evidenced by high quality publications and conference presentations
- Skills in solid and solution phase peptide synthesis and combination methods
- Experience in analytical and preparative high-performance chromatography (HPLC) for peptide characterisation and purification
- Experience in molecular interactions techniques
- such as UV-visible
- fluorescence and circular dichroism (CD) spectrophotometry
- surface plasmon resonance (SPR)
- isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC).
- Good communication and presentation skills
- with proven ability to write and prepare research papers
- A team player with the ability to supervise the work of students and technicians
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
