Job Description

The Molecular Biomaterials Group has a strong track record of research on peptide-based biomaterials, with publications in Science, Nat Chem, Adv Funct Mater, Nano Lett, and is interested in developing stimuli-responsive self-assembling peptides for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. .We are recruiting a Junior Researcher working in the field of Peptide-based Biomaterials. Candidates should meet the criteria of “Recognised Researchers (R2)” established in the European Framework for Research Careers.

Requirements

Highly motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree in Chemistry
Experience and interest in the field of peptide therapeutics
A solid track record in peptide chemistry and peptide-based materials as evidenced by high quality publications and conference presentations
Skills in solid and solution phase peptide synthesis and combination methods
Experience in analytical and preparative high-performance chromatography (HPLC) for peptide characterisation and purification
Experience in molecular interactions techniques
such as UV-visible
fluorescence and circular dichroism (CD) spectrophotometry
surface plasmon resonance (SPR)
isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC).
Good communication and presentation skills
with proven ability to write and prepare research papers
A team player with the ability to supervise the work of students and technicians
Fluent in written and spoken English.
