About
Three-year PhD contract at the Institut de biologie de l’École normale supérieure (IBENS, ENS-PSL) on deep generative models for the joint analysis of tissue images and spatial molecular data. The doctoral researcher will develop new generative deep-learning methods to analyse images of biological tissue coupled with spatially resolved molecular measurements, and apply them to biological questions in collaboration with biology teams. Activities include designing, implementing and evaluating generative models (flow matching, diffusion), processing and analysing large imaging datasets, working with partner biologists, and publishing and presenting results at conferences.
The thesis is based in Auguste Genovesio’s image analysis and AI team, co-directed with N. Spassky’s team at IBENS, in an interdisciplinary environment spanning AI, applied mathematics and biology with access to GPU computing resources. Start date 1 January 2027; minimum monthly salary €2,300.
