Job Description
Do you want to understand how colours are made, measured and seen? A fully funded PhD position in the form of four-year employment is available at the University of Salzburg, Austria, in the Material Physics group led by prof. Bodo Wilts, where we explore composition, function, and development of natural and man-made nanostructures with optical, chemical and computational methods. Requirements
- You must hold an MSc in physics
- chemistry
- material sciences
- life/neurosciences
- or a similar scientific/engineering discipline that enables you to independently conduct experiments
- perform data analysis and numerical modelling. You should have a general understanding of optics and/or (sensory) biophysics. Your existing toolbox could include microscopy
- image analysis
- spectroscopy
- chemical lab
- and programming skills.
