Job Description

The research involves the investigations of the neural mechanisms of memory and cognition in humans. We collect and analyze electrophysiological data including single neuron activity and local field potentials from human epilepsy patients during a variety of memory and cognitive tasks during the awake/sleep cycle, examine the relationships between neural signals and behavior, as well as the effects of electrical stimulation (applied in a closed/open-loop fashion) on neural signals and cognition.

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Bioengineering
  • Biophysics
  • Neuroscience or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of research experience in neuroscience in an academic setting or equivalent. The candidate is required to have experience in research areas that include but are not exclusive to human system neuroscience
  • specifically: human learning and memory
  • statistical analysis of neural data
  • signal
  • processing
  • machine learning (and deep learning)
  • significant experience in programming (MATLAB and Python are preferred) and mathematical modeling.
