Post-Doctoral Fellowship in High Energy Astrophysics

Job Description
The University of São Paulo's High Energy and Plasma Astrophysics group seeks a postdoctoral fellow to develop realistic simulations and reconstruction pipelines for double-layer water Cherenkov detector designs for the Southern Wide-field Gamma-ray Observatory. The researcher will quantify detector performance and develop the joint SWGO-CTAO science case for transients, diffuse emission, cosmic-ray anisotropy and multi-TeV sources, with planned visits to the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics and the SWGO site.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold a PhD in physics
- astronomy or a related field and have experience in detector or atmospheric-shower simulations and/or gamma-ray or multi-messenger astrophysics. Strong programming and data-analysis skills and excellent English are required. The call is open to candidates of any nationality
