Reactive Gases Scientist

Study atmospheric reactive gases and their effects on air quality and climate. The role combines long-term and campaign observations, including work associated with Cape Grim and RV Investigator, with optical spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and data analysis. Research covers ozone, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds and their links with aerosol chemistry. The indefinite appointment is based in Aspendale; flexible or part-time arrangements may be considered. Salary is AUD 135,000–158,000 plus 15.4% superannuation.

A relevant doctorate or equivalent experience, at least three years of postdoctoral research, field instrumentation skills, scientific programming and a driver licence are required. Eligibility is limited to Australian or New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents.
