Research Associate - Cornell SonicMEMS Laboratory

Research Associate in Professor Amit Lal's SonicMEMS Laboratory at Cornell University. The lab's research includes gigahertz ultrasonics for chip-scale communication, sensing and computation; pyroelectric high-voltage generators for gas ionisation and detection; NEMS-scale mechanically actuated hyperspectral computation with ferroelectric weight storage; biomedical sensing with CMOS-compatible gigahertz ultrasound pulse-echo arrays; tunnelling sensors for low-power RF detection; and ultrasonic and magnetically stabilised levitation for IMU sensor isolation.

The associate partners with Professor Lal on experiments, data analysis, manuscripts and proposals, and on managing research milestones and group operations. The one-year position may be extended up to four more years; the salary range is $50,900 to $95,900 and the anticipated start is January 18, 2027.
