Research Associate in Physical Biology - Mitotic Mechanisms
Biophysics, Computational Biology and position at University of Cambridge
Apply by Friday, Nov 6
About
Join Francois Nedelec’s group at the Sainsbury Laboratory on the ERC Synergy BioMecaNet project. Use mathematical models and numerical simulations to investigate mitotic spindle assembly, cytoskeletal mechanics and chromosome segregation, integrating filament mechanics with cellular chemistry. Collaborate with experimental groups in Dortmund and Barcelona. Funding is available until 30 June 2028.
Requirements
PhD awarded or nearing completion in computational biology, physics, applied mathematics, computer science or a related discipline; scientific publications and effective communication. Biological modelling or theoretical biophysics experience is advantageous.
Topics
- mitotic spindle
- chromosome segregation
- cytoskeletal mechanics
