Join the Carbon Modelling & Mitigation Team in CSIRO Agriculture and Food to measure soil organic matter and connect analytical results with modelling for agricultural decisions and climate and soil policy. Duties include sample preparation, laboratory analysis, instrument calibration, quality control, data management, fieldwork and improving laboratory processes. This full-time position in Adelaide lasts three years and pays AU$76,000–96,000 annually plus 15.4% superannuation.

Requirements

A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher; soil or environmental laboratory experience; analytical instrumentation, quality assurance and data skills; willingness to undertake fieldwork; and a current driver’s licence. Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, or temporary residents with work rights covering the full term. Appointment requires a national police check. R or Python and soil-carbon characterisation experience are desirable.
