Permanent 80% daytime post for a psychologist in the psychiatric day and outpatient unit of Akureyri Hospital (SAk), which treats and supports adults aged 18 and over through interdisciplinary teamwork and has been carrying out extensive service improvement. The psychologist assesses and treats clients through individual and group therapy, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), works with clients, families and colleagues across professions, shares responsibility for developing the psychology service and its quality, contributes to the training and supervision of students and new staff, takes part in the unit's organisation and planning, and records and evaluates treatment in the clinical record system.

Full qualification and an Icelandic licence to practise as a psychologist; experience in the assessment and treatment of adults with mental disorders; training in and experience of cognitive behavioural therapy and of other treatments such as trauma therapy; experience leading group therapy and of interdisciplinary teamwork is an advantage; initiative, independence, organised working and strong communication skills; good repute and a clean criminal record.
