Job Description

At SceniX, we’re building a “game engine” for rapid development and deployment of
robotic learning systems. That is, a world model that captures object geometry,
appearance, and dynamics with an eye toward facilitating robotic training and
evaluation. Existing AI systems can generate pixels, but often lack a robust
understanding of physics and object interactions. We’re on a mission to advance the
science of 3D generative models so they can handle the real-world complexity of how
objects look, move and interact.
SceniX was founded By William O'Farrell (SpeechWorks, Body Labs), Changxi Zheng
(Columbia professor), Yunzhu Li (Columbia professor) and Sonny Hu (Body Labs,
Amazon). They combine a unique background of serial entrepreneurship, computer
graphics, physical simulation, and robotics.
In-person role in New York preferred. Hybrid or remote considered.

Requirements

  • PhD or Equivalent Experience: You hold a PhD in Robotics
  • 3D Generative
  • Models
  • Simulation
  • or related fields
  • or bring comparable research experience.
  • Physics-Based Simulation Expertise: You have deep experience with simulators
  • (e.g.
  • MuJoCo
  • Isaac Sim
  • and Drake).
  • Generative Modeling: You can leverage state-of-the-art 3D generative models
  • or
  • develop new ones
  • and have publications or projects to showcase this.
  • Fast Iteration & Communication: You thrive on iterating quickly
  • testing ideas
  • and
  • communicating the “whys” behind them to a cross-functional team.
  • Publications a Plus: Demonstrated thought leadership in your field through
  • conference/journal publications is a strong bonus.
