Abstract

Connecting black-hole engines to observed explosions requires simulations spanning very different physical scales. This seminar uses three-dimensional relativistic magnetohydrodynamics with neutrino physics to model merger and stellar-collapse events. It examines gamma-ray-burst engines, magnetic-field growth, heavy-element production, jet evolution and possible additional transient and gravitational-wave signatures.
