Abstract

A vacuum density matrix for a large spherical causal diamond is constructed in four-dimensional asymptotically flat gravity. The seminar uses the low-energy effective action for soft gravitational modes and the symmetry-breaking Goldstone mode. It then calculates the mean and variance of the modular Hamiltonian and examines the resulting area-law behaviour.
