GEMA Grand Rounds: The Role of Emergency Care Systems in Outbreak Response

Tsion Firew examines lessons from Rwanda’s Marburg virus response, focusing on how emergency-care systems support rapid multidisciplinary coordination and frontline leadership. The talk considers remdesivir post-exposure prophylaxis, experimental vaccines, monoclonal antibodies and advanced intensive care as parts of the response, including protection of healthcare workers and reported reductions in case fatality.
