Abstract

Short detector-noise transients can bias the masses, spins and orbital properties inferred from gravitational waves. This seminar examines real-event examples and simulations to assess how visible or subtle glitches affect astrophysical conclusions, including measurements of spin and eccentricity. It also considers uncertainty from imperfect noise removal and possible directions for improved mitigation.
