Abstract
Pairwise difference learning replaces a direct predictor with a model comparing pairs of examples. Karim Belaid develops a classification version in which paired training data define a binary learning problem and predictions are combined across reference examples. Weighting those reference points by reliability improves robustness. The talk reports a large empirical comparison with established classifiers and introduces a public Python implementation.
