Develop architected materials through protein-guided assembly in micro-emulsion templates. Work includes scalable droplet generation, membrane emulsification and inkjet printing, followed by evaluation for lithium-ion batteries. The project aims to reduce reliance on critical minerals and involves collaborators in Cambridge, Liverpool and the Netherlands.

The Solid Mechanics professorship seeks an experimental postdoctoral researcher to investigate how soft and architected materials deform and fracture. The role develops quantitative experiments using confocal or high-speed imaging, digital image correlation and particle tracking to measure crack-tip behaviour, strain, fracture energy and rate effects.
