18th Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies Conference (GHGT-18)

Oct 25–29, 2026

GHGT-18 is an international forum for carbon capture, utilisation and storage, bringing together scientific research, demonstration projects, business strategy and policy across the CCUS value chain. The programme includes keynote and plenary talks, technical sessions, panel discussions, a business stream, poster sessions and networking, with more than 1,000 delegates expected. IEAGHG organises the conference, co-hosted by Australian Energy Producers, CO2CRC, CSIRO and Geoscience Australia. Registration is currently open for the Perth meeting.

Chemistry in the Age of Abundance

Omar M. Yaghi · Tsinghua University — Distinguished Chair Professor

Wed, Sep 16, 2026 · 15:00 UTC

Omar M. Yaghi examines how reticular chemistry changes the scale and diversity of materials that chemists can design. By joining molecular building blocks into extended structures, researchers have developed large families of metal–organic frameworks and covalent organic frameworks with tunable internal spaces and functions. The lecture asks how artificial intelligence and robotics could accelerate the preparation and exploration of these materials, moving chemical discovery from scarcity toward abundance. Yaghi connects this approach to carbon capture and the collection of water from air, bu
