Clinical research training fellowships support three-year cancer-research PhDs in CRUK Cambridge Centre groups, normally starting in October 2027. They cover a clinical salary, research consumables and Home-rate university fees. Applicants choose two preferred projects. Overseas candidates may apply, but those ineligible for reduced staff fees may need to fund an approximately £27,600 annual fee difference. Appointment depends on admission to the Cambridge PhD programme.

The MRC fellowship combines clinical research training with a programme addressing human health, from mechanisms of disease to translational research. It supports researchers developing a clinical academic career with supervision in an eligible host department. Research can cover infection, immunity, molecular medicine, population health, neuroscience, mental health and related MRC areas. Fellows should normally start between October 2027 and January 2028. The application deadline is 13 January 2027 at 16:00 UK time.
