Observation to Knowledge: Harnessing Reproducible Practices to Accelerate Science

David Kennedy · University of Massachusetts

Tue, Nov 3, 2026 · 17:00 UTC

Reproducible research can turn scientific observations into reliable, reusable knowledge. This talk presents ReproNim and related community infrastructure for sharing data and computational workflows. It examines versioned, re-executable analysis at scale using OpenNeuro, together with harmonization and querying across dozens of research sites. ReproLakes and ReproPonds combine public and private metadata stores with FAIR and reproducible practices to improve discovery and reuse. The discussion addresses both technical obstacles and research-culture challenges, offering practical approaches fo

Study molecular reaction chemistry in aqueous and organic media using simulation, statistical mechanics and machine learning. The Chemical Dynamics Group seeks scalable computational workflows, coordinated with spectroscopy experiments, to understand structure, thermodynamics and reaction dynamics. Applications are made on the employer’s recruitment portal; no closing date is stated. Initial appointment up to 24 months, with extensions dependent on performance and funding.
