Fundamental research

Flexible support for fundamental research, idea generation and networking that develops new arts and humanities research agendas. Solo and collaborative projects may run for up to five years, starting at least six months after submission. Practice-based and interdisciplinary approaches are supported within AHRC’s remit. Applications are accepted without a closing date.

Seed funding for new faculty establishing independent fundamental research relevant to petroleum or fossil fuels at non-doctoral departments. Applications are open for the May 2027 committee meeting until 9 October 2026 at 17:00 US Eastern.
