Joint ICTP-IAEA Workshop on Dose Management Systems: from Setting Up to Quality Assurance

This joint ICTP-IAEA workshop strengthens the capacity of medical physicists to use digital tools and dose management systems (DMS) for quality assurance, patient dose management and optimization in medical imaging. It provides practical training on DICOM, PACS and image and data management, including the principles and practical steps for building an open-source PACS environment, with particular emphasis on implementing DMS, acceptance testing and routine quality control. Lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises cover DICOM and medical imaging data, PACS architecture and interoperability, digital tools for imaging QA and optimization, DMS clinical applications, data analytics, dashboards and benchmarking, and AI and emerging digital tools in medical physics. Applicants may submit a brief research abstract, and a limited number will be selected for contributed talks. There is no registration fee; a limited number of grants support selected participants, with priority for developing countries.
