Species Monitoring in R

Starts in 6 days

Online

About

Design long-term animal monitoring programmes and analyze their data in R. The course compares capture–mark–recapture, distance sampling, occupancy and N-mixture approaches, emphasizing their assumptions and appropriate uses. Real datasets show how field design and analytical decisions affect population estimates, including abundance and distribution of rare or elusive species. Live teaching is supplemented by self-guided practicals using annotated scripts.

2026-10-19–2026-10-21, 09:00–12:30 daily, Europe/Berlin (CEST, UTC+02:00). Online course; fee €380. Basic R knowledge is desirable; the course addresses both monitoring design and adaptation of existing analysis scripts.
