This scientific discussion meeting asks which nanoscale optical sensing approaches can deliver affordable, information-rich healthcare measurements. Its focus is continuous biochemical monitoring beyond conventional physiological wearables and diagnostic sensors. The programme examines interferometric biomarker detection, surface-enhanced Raman assays, nanophotonic sensing and translation toward practical diagnostic tools, comparing modalities and their potential for use across healthcare settings. Jeremy Baumberg and Duncan Graham organize the meeting; programme participants include Selim Ünlü, Karen Faulds and Jennifer Dionne. Sessions take place on 9–10 November 2026, 09:00–17:00 GMT (Europe/London, UTC+0), at the Royal Society, 6–9 Carlton House Terrace, London, with online attendance also available. The meeting is intended for researchers working in relevant fields. Advance registration is required; choose a free online or in-person ticket on the event-specific Eventbrite page. Optional lunch costs GBP 25 per day. A poster session is planned for 9 November. Poster proposals are due by 9 October and may be accepted on a rolling basis, subject to capacity. The scientific programme may change.

This symposium connects academic and industrial work on automated chemistry, from robotic solid/liquid handling and flow chemistry to reaction monitoring, purification, algorithms and experiment design. Scientific sessions examine automated chemistry data workflows, agentic high-throughput synthesis, kinetic measurements and mechanistic models, data-driven purification and AI-assisted R&D. It serves researchers, students and industrial chemists using automation in organic, medicinal and process chemistry. The 24 November programme has registration at 10:00, opening remarks at 10:30, scientific presentations from 10:35 to 16:10 and a networking reception at 16:15 (London local time, GMT). Early-bird registration ends 27 October: SCI members GBP 105, nonmembers GBP 135 and student members GBP 55. Later rates are GBP 150, GBP 185 and GBP 95 respectively. Event-account registration is available to nonmembers.

The inaugural RACI conference on robotics, automation and machine learning in chemistry examines robotic synthesis, automated analysis, experimental planning, self-driving laboratories and chemical data science. Academic and industry researchers will exchange methods through plenary and contributed talks, posters and demonstrations. The meeting connects chemistry with robotics and AI, including cheminformatics and data-driven discovery. Paid registration includes the two-day programme, welcome reception and daytime catering; the conference dinner costs extra. Abstract submissions close on 31 October 2026, with acceptance notices on 15 November and early-bird rates through 30 November. The RACI registration table gives 18 February 2027 as the final registration date.
