The 2027 Chemical Imaging Gordon Research Conference brings together chemists, physicists, engineers, biologists, computational scientists and clinicians around four interwoven themes: activity-based sensing and biosensors that report on chemistry as it happens; dynamic, ultrafast and super-resolved imaging that pushes the limits of sensitivity, speed and spatial resolution; multiscale imaging spanning live cells, tissues, whole organs and clinical translation, including quantitative approaches rigorous enough for human studies; and AI-native, multimodal chemical imaging, including foundation models that could unify imaging modalities. Sessions cover visions for the future of the chemical world, activity-based sensing, dynamic chemistry, live-cell imaging of molecular machinery and metabolism, ultrafast and super-resolved methods, whole-organ and atlas-scale imaging, quantitative clinical chemical imaging, and AI-driven multimodal foundation models. As a Gordon Research Conference, the meeting presents cutting-edge and unpublished research with extended discussion after each talk, poster sessions open to scientists of all career stages, and informal exchange over communal meals.
